Studies on symbiotic relationship between the ciliate Paramecium species and intra-nuclear symbiont, Holospora species, and between P. bursaria and symbiotic Chlorella will be contribute to be clear mechanisms for establishment of symbiosis, cell volution, and construction of a novel beneficial symbiosis.
Our research focused on:
1. Genome analysis of the genus Holospora, an intra-nuclear symbiont of the ciliate Paramecium.
2. Investigation of mechanisms for establishment of symbiosis between Paramecium and Holospora by proteome analysis.
3. Investigation of mechanisms for establishment of symbiosis between P. bursaria and symbiotic Chlorella by proteome analysis.
