1.Bioremediation for PCE/TCE-polluted environments: we have tried to develop the selective stimulating method of dechlorinators.

2. Analyses of nitrogen cycle for sustainable water resources: we have evaluated the potential of nitrifying/denitrifying microbes using kinetic analyses, molecular ecological techniques and isolation.

3. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) and biomineralization: we have tried to develop the efficient MFC, especially, focusing to bio-rechargeable material.

4. Principle of microbial ecosystem: it is significantly important to control microbial ecosystems. We construct the model microbial ecosystem and have tried to find the principle of microbial ecosystem standing on the viewpoint of interspecies interaction and metabolic network.
