Division:Research Institute of Green Science and Technology
Dr. Hermann Watzig, Professor of Institute for Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Technological University of Braunschweig (Germany) visited Research Institute of Green Science and Technology, Shizuoka University on February 10th.
A seminar, entitled “How to reproducibly analyze proteins and their binding affinity” was given to students and researchers at Research Institute of Green Science and Technology.
Various proteins with different properties attracting attention as pharmaceuticals, for example, all proteins such as enzymes, intrinsically disordered proteins, collagen, and viruses, are separated to elucidate various mechanisms, systematically structured purification technology is important. He explained how to analyze using techniques such as electrophoresis and chromatography and it’s for especially in order to improve precision and accuracy.
Dr. Hermann Watzig's lab has collaborated with pharmaceutical companies and German authorities as well as European authorities on analytical researches, separation techniques, protein and proteome analysis, biotechnically produced pharmaceuticals and statistical issues from quality control.
