Heat and mass transport phenomena exist widely in our daily lives, from the microscopic synthesis of ATP in cells to the macroscopic atmospheric circulation. Heat and mass transfer is generally thought of as a diffusion phenomenon, but there are various forms of transfer, such as transfer accompanied by chemical reactions, transfer by electrical energy, active transport by ATP and heat absorbed or released by a material. Revealing the mechanisms of heat and mass transfer and establishing mathematical models will lead to higher performance and energy savings in industrial products. In my research, I have been involved in the following activities in the fields of energy, environment, medicine, and food engineering,

・Establishment of shape optimization theory for thermal equipment.
・Establishment of CCUS technology using direct seawater electrolysis.
・Establishment of personalized dialysis treatment based on in vivo mass transport phenomena.
・Development of a coffee extractor based on heat and mass transfer.
